Adding Help text

To maximize the efficiency of your dictionary, Crystal Reports allows you to add Help text. Whenever anyone needs clarification on what the elements of your dictionary are, they can point to the item in question and Help text will appear in a pop-up window to assist them.

  1. While in the Crystal Dictionary Expert, click the View tab.

  2. Highlight the field that you want to add Help text to from the Tables & fields from database list box.
  3. Click the Help Text button.

    The Edit Help Text dialog box appears.

  4. Enter the Help Text and click OK when finished.

    When the user selects a field or field heading and holds the cursor over the selected item, the Help text appears in a pop-up window.
