XML Output Format Used

This box displays the name of the output format your report definition is using. This information is not editable; it can be changed only by selecting a different output format on the Options tab.

Report Definition Tree

This box lists the XML definition for your report in tree format. Tree nodes can be expanded to show their contents. The selected node is active and its associated XML element definition is displayed in the other fields on the dialog box.

XML Element Name

This box contains the name of the XML element associated with the selected report object. The XML element name can be changed only for output using the Custom Format.

New

Use this button to create a new XML element when two or more report objects in the Report Definition Tree are associated with the same XML element.

Attributes

This box lists the attributes for the XML element associated with a selected node in the Report Definition Tree. Attributes describe additional information about an element.

Name

Attributes must have unique names within an element's attribute list. Attribute names do not have to be unique across elements.

Instance Value

This field shows the instance value for the selected XML element attribute. This value is used in the XML output.

Default Value

Enter a value in this field to assure the attribute is not left empty when there is no instance value.

Create

Use this button to create a new attribute. The Create button opens the XML Attribute dialog box.

The Create button is available for any selected node that is not suppressed in the Report Definition Tree.

Edit

Use this button to modify an existing attribute. The Edit button opens the XML Attribute dialog box.

The Edit button is available only when you select an attribute you created in the XML Attribute dialog box.

Delete

Use this button to delete an existing attribute. The Delete button is available only when you select an attribute you created in the XML Attribute dialog box.

Delete All

Use this button to delete all existing attributes for a selected element. The Delete All button is available only when you select a node that has attributes you created in the XML Attribute dialog box.

Note:    You cannot delete the default attributes. The Delete All button removes only attributes you created in the XML Attribute dialog box.

Suppress XML Tag

Select this check box if you don't want to export the selected node in the Report Definition Tree. This option applies only to the selected node and not its children.

Suppress All Children

Select this check box if you want to suppress a node and all of its children.
